First real trip to the beach - April 26, 2008

So back in April we decided to take advantage of one of the rare hot days in the city (hot in SF = upper 70's / low 80's) and go to the beach. We had taken Zach to see the ocean before, but never hung out or let him play in the sand.

We went to Baker Beach, which has great views of Marin and the Golden Gate Bridge. Zach loved the sand. Here are a couple of photos from our day at the beach.

Here we are at the playground in Golden Gate park again. Every time we go, it seems like Zach can enjoy the play structures in new ways.

Yes, Zach's birthday was 3 mos ago, and I'm just now getting to post these pics. Some found it confusing that the date above says June 17. This is today's date. The day I'm posting these photos is June 17. Zach's birthday is not today. Zach's first birthday was on March 11. Hopefully this clears things up.

Emi is one of Zach's buddies and she's just a day older than Zach. Along with Atticus, the three of them (and their parents, too!) have been getting together to play for just about a year! One of the party favors was bubbles. It was Zach's first experience with them and he loved them.

For Zach's first birthday we flew to Jackson to visit Zach's immediate birth family: Jennifer, Josh, Jay, Barb and McKinley. We had a great time and we're very excited for our trip in the fall to Blue Earth to meet the rest our new relatives!
